About Colby Vorland

Assistant Research Scientist in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Indiana University School of Public Health–Bloomington.

I study scientific rigor, reproducibility, and transparency, and build tools that help researchers inspect, understand, and use evidence.

My research examines statistical errors, independent reanalysis, reporting practices, and the scientific record. Nutrition, obesity, and aging are important application areas. I also develop software that brings research methods into everyday practice.

Research background

My doctoral work at Purdue University examined intestinal phosphorus absorption, mineral balance, and chronic kidney disease. I joined Indiana University as a postdoctoral fellow in 2019 and became an Assistant Research Scientist in 2022.
